Spring . School Trip

⎡ spring 2021 ⎦

It is nearing the end of the school term, and students have just finished their final examinations for the year. The atmosphere around the school campus is much more lightened now that exams are out of the way, and the students of Kairyou feel like they can finally breathe again. With graduation coming soon and the juniors progressing into their next year, there are some uncertainties circulating between the students, whether it be about missing their classmates, underclassmen, and upperclassmen when they separate, or about their future plans for the next term ahead.

However, if there is one thing all students are looking forward to before the end of school, it's the annual field trip! This year, the chosen location is Osaka, Japan. The trip will be four days and three nights, and students will as usual be assigned into groups with a mix of first, second, and third years. A registration and consent form have already been handed out to all students, and parents/guardians have been contacted prior to the field trip. The purpose of Kairyou's school trips are to promote more interaction between students who are in different years, and hopefully, the students of Kairyou will be able to deepen those bonds together.

A fictional itinerary is specially made for this event.

It contains flavour text and will be useful for members to get a better grasp of how the school trip would flow IC-ly.

⎡ activities ⎦

⦊ DAY 01 // OSAKA AQUARIUM KAIYUKAN

On the first day of Kairyou's school trip, students will be visiting the famous Osaka aquarium Kaiyukan, one of the largest public aquariums in the world! The aquarium has a total of 8 floors for the students to explore, starting from the 8th floor and slowly making their way towards the bottom. The aquarium features various marine life, including Japanese seals, sea otters (Kairyou's mascot!) and Kaiyukan's famous whale sharks! A souvenir shop popular for their adorable sea animal plushies will also be available for students to browse near the exit of the aquarium.

⦊ DAY 02 // UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN

On the second day, students will leave their hotel early in the morning and travel via train to the famous Universal Studios Japan (USJ)! There they will spend the full day exploring the theme park and playing in the many attractions that USJ has to offer, such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Hello Kitty's Fashion Avenue, and Super Nintendo World! Before entering the theme park, students will be tasked to gather at the front entrance where the famous Universal Studios globe is, where a group picture will be taken to commemorate the school trip.

⦊ DAY 03 // KUROMON ICHIBA MARKET & "DEN-DEN" TOWN

Their third day will be spent first in Kuromon Ichiba Market, also nicknamed "Osaka's Kitchen", as that is where many restaurant chefs and local homeowners get their supplies from. Famous for their fresh seafood as well as their wonderful array of food vendors, ranging from street food to fresh fruits, and even souvenirs, Kuromon Ichiba Market will be sure to keep everyone busy and full! Students will be able to spend their time strolling, sampling, and snacking on a delicious variety of foods together with their groups, as well as buying souvenirs for families and friends if they wish. After that, they will make their way to Nipponbashi Denden Town, a popular shopping district that's similar to Tokyo's Akihabara Electric Town. Students may continue to shop and explore the shopping district to their leisure. Den-Den Town also features many otaku-related products and fancy coffee shops.

⦊ DAY 04 // OSAKA CASTLE & LEISURE

On the students' fourth and final day in Osaka, they will be taken to visit Osaka Castle, one of Japan's most famous landmarks. Students may relax in the park and engage in sightseeing activities, as the castle tower is surrounded by citadels, gates, turrets, impressive stone walls and moats. They may also choose to enter Nishinomaru Garden, a lawn garden that is also within the vicinity. The 2km garden consists of a tea house and up to 600 cherry trees, making it a perfect place to have a picnic for lunch!
