Spring . Graduation Day
⎡ spring 2021 ⎦
Numerous cardboard boxes can be seen throughout the dormitories as students carry them in and out of the building. The rooms begin to slowly empty out, and the school's parking lot seems unusually full with cars these few days. This scene soon becomes common as the last day of school grows nearer, and the students are finally moving out of Kairyou high school. The hustle is buzzing and there is a constant chatter in the air, though the atmosphere is mixed with that of sentiment and excitement.
Soon, the day arrives — Graduation Day.
All students, teachers, and parents are gathered in the assembly hall and lined up in neat rows. The third years are standing right in front, a simple flower boutonniere pinned onto their uniform vest. The ceremony starts first by singing the national anthem, followed by a speech from the school principal. He congratulates the students on another successful academic year, and later on gives another congratulations to the third years for successfully graduating from Kairyou high school. Throughout his speech, he begins to talk about the students' upcoming future journeys, advising them to remain true to their principles and to thrive to be the best version of themselves.
" There is great potential in your hearts.
Carry on your lives with pride and lift your head up high.
One day, all of you will grow up, and all of you will change.
But as students of Kairyou, as long as you are within the waves,
you will always be home. "
The principal soon ends his speech and the hall echoes with applause, and the certificate-giving ceremony begins. The procedure is quick and smooth-sailing for the third years, and the ceremony is quick to come to an end. A combined speech from the student council, represented by the president and vice president, is given, and the graduation ceremony ends with the students singing the school anthem for the last time.
After the ceremony, students still loiter around school grounds, accompanied mostly by a chorus of laughter and sobs as they huddle around to take pictures and bond together one last time before parting ways.

⦊ MESSAGE BULLETIN
It is a Kairyou tradition that on the last week of school, the public bulletin board is cleared out and available for all students to write their farewell notes or good luck messages. Any student from any year is more than welcome to attach a note to the board, and it is up to the individual if they want to sign it or to keep it anonymous. This bulletin board can be used to express gratitude towards friends, upperclassmen, and underclassmen, or it can be used to write general messages wishing everyone the best of luck for the next school term!
⦊ AFTER THE GRADUATION CEREMONY
It is no secret that students will be staying back in school after the graduation ceremony to spend time with their friends and classmates. Everyone will definitely be busy taking pictures, discussing future meet-ups or plans for university, or just taking one last stroll around the school campus and reminiscing old memories. Which one will you be doing?
To the class of 2020,
thank you for being a part of this journey.
The student council wishes you all the best with your future endeavours!
